Before Your Appliance Repair Visit: A Practical Checklist

A few clear details help make the first conversation about a broken appliance more useful. You do not need to diagnose the part yourself. Focus on what the machine does and when the problem happens.

Write down what changed

Record the appliance type, brand, model number, exact error code, and when the issue started. Explain whether it happens every cycle or only occasionally. Mention recent installation, plumbing, filter, or electrical changes without assuming they caused the fault.

Explain the installation and access

Tell us about a stacked dryer, built-in trim, cabinet panels, stairs, gates, or a restricted laundry space. Provide the complete service address and callback number. Leave heavy appliances in place unless the technician gives appropriate instructions.

Agree on the estimate process

Ask about the diagnostic charge, how the repair estimate is approved, what happens if you decline the repair, and whether the quote includes parts, labor, and tax. If two appliances need attention, ask how a second diagnosis is charged. Keep the written estimate and invoice.

For a tenant or property manager

Before arranging a visit, establish who can authorize the work, who provides access, and who pays. Ask Axus whether your proposed approval and payment arrangement can be accommodated. Do not assume that an email request authorizes work or confirms a time slot.

Questions to settle before booking

Can I book appliance repair online?

The website form prepares an email in your email application. You must send it to deliver the request. An appointment is confirmed through a follow-up conversation; the form does not reserve a time.

Can I supply my own replacement part?

Ask before buying a part. Confirm whether customer-supplied parts can be used, how compatibility will be checked, and what coverage would apply. A guessed part can leave the original fault unresolved.

Can you repair an appliance that is still under its manufacturer's warranty?

Check the manufacturer’s claim process first and confirm any authorization requirements. Being able to service a brand is different from being authorized to perform its warranty repairs.
